The date wheel for the 2893-1 (OP asked about 2893, not 2892A2 nor 2824), when used according to ETA's docs, is stepped up 0.45mm to accommodate the center 24 hour indicator wheel. It is essentially a 2836 date dial. The date wheel removal is explained in my above post. As stated by Ssteel though the movement you have bought isn't Rolex font, so you can either glue on a new DWO onto the date disk or replace the date disk with one that already has the correct DWO installed.

My issue is the date wheel on the 2824. The jumper mechanism is different to the 2836 and I think therefore that the under proflie of the date wheel is also different from the pics I've looked at. Therefore it seems that the date wheels are not directly interchangeble.
The ETA 2836-2 is basically an ETA 2824-2 that has a day-of-the-week wheel in addition to the date wheel. Pictures at the AliExpress web site do not show a day-of-the-week wheel. I'm guessing that complication has been replaced by the GMT mechanism. I read this in the operating instruction of a watch with ETA2836-2 movement. Setting the Day and Date. Do not set your watch between 8 pm and 2 am. This will seriously damage the watch, and such damage is not covered under the XXXXX XXXX warranty.
One simple practice should help keep your date wheel from breaking. Photo 1 shows the correct position for the date corrector when you are setting your date. Photo 2 shows the date corrector position right after the date has flipped over.

How to use & set the GMT hand in ETA 2836-2 version: You unscrew the crown to the date set position and TURN THE CROWN ANTI-CLOCKWISE to adjust the GMT hand into desired position. It's not absolutely necessary to tweak the GMT hand. You can also turn the bezel and set the 24 hour markers into desired "timezone" position to match your GMT hand.
