I don’t know how any watch can improve on a daily variation of 0.2 seconds per day for a months period. I daily checked my accuracy and on the first day it was running 3.4 seonds and its never been more then 3.5 or less then 3.2 seonds. The real accuracy of a watch is the consistency of the daily variation. Curious what level of tolerance any of you would accept on any new Rolex piece you were to buy. I know Rolex says +/- 2 sec per day per their own standard but let’s be real, especially as newer watches need breaking in, this tolerance is sometimes fallen out of.
First, Rolex tests the accuracy of its Superlative Chronometers with tolerances that are twice those for the COSC official certification (to which the Rolex movements are systematically submitted anyhow).

With this said, this can be regarded as the official Rolex date change tolerance for a new Rolex watch or a freshly serviced watch. Not sure on Rolex, but for other brands, this is well within allowed tolerance. I would never notice in this case. I had a watch where the hour hand didn't align until 10 minutes after the hour. That drove me a little crazy, but I still dealt with it until the warranty was almost up. :)
